64-72 A Body Disc Brake Conversion Info
This first article is from June of 87. It primarily deals with the conversion kit from HO Racing which keeps your stock upper control arm. At some point over the years I've lost the last page which gives the skidpad numbers. Sorry! Getting ready to do this swap on my 68 Cutlass Supreme keeping the stock upper arms (for now) and using the stock replacement ball joints and tie rod ends. Found a reamer at a stock car parts house that will allow me to ream out the later spindles to the taper of the earlier ball joints. My reasons for doing it this way is that 1) it's cheaper, and 2) since I'm keeping the car for a while, if I need to replace a ball joint or tie rod end all I have to do is go to a local store and get a new one for a 68.
This article is from June of 90 when Global West first started making thier tubular upper control arms. Their a bit pricey, and Hotchkis also makes them now. Doing my own research on either adapting an oval track upper arm to work or making my own arms (got to be cheaper!).
